It’s the day after Halloween — bring your best costumes!
Prizes will be awarded for:
- Best Dressed Dog
- Best Dressed Human
- …and other fun categories!
🎯 About the Event
This mock field trial is designed for learning and fun! Whether you’re brand new or already trialing, this event will help you gain:
- A better understanding of how trials are scored
- Insights into judging criteria
- Practical bird planting and handling experience
Everyone will take part in:
- Running a brace with their dog
- Judging a brace under a qualified judge
- Leading a discussion about the run
- Planting birds for another brace
🏆 Stakes Offered
- Derby (no age limit) — Beginner/FDJ level (dog must be okay with shot)
- Open — FD and above
- Possible additions: Puppy Stake (6+ months, no birds/shot) or Live Shoot Stake (TBD)
💰 Entry Fees
- $32 per stake
- $15 for auditing spot
Multiple entries may be possible depending on availability.
⚙️ Training Tools
- E-collars, GPS, short tabs (≤4”) permitted
- No check cords allowed during runs
- Dogs may be leashed when on point to prevent chasing
🕘 Schedule
- 9:00 AM: Meet with judges (Maxine + TBD) — rules, scoring, and marking categories
- 10:00 AM: First brace begins
- Up to 8 braces during the day
- Lunch: Bring your own (no microwave available)

Take-home birds available — $15 each
