The Vancouver Island Pointing Dog Club, formed in 1962, was originally very active on the Island but disbanded many years ago.
On July 23rd, 2006 at Trendsetter Farms, Errington, a group of people gathered to reinstate the club. Present at the first meeting were Brian and Jan Robinson, Chris Bibby, Phil Stanton, John and Pam McNally, Richard Buck, Sergio Velez, Alison Gunn, Tom Farkas.
The rest is History!
December 20, 2006 VIPDC was incorporated under the Society Act of BC.
The purpose of the socety is/are: (a) ongoing education and awareness for the general public and owners of all pointing dog breeds;
(b) promoting the training and use of pointing dogs for the purpose for which they were bred;
(c) to run field dog trials, hunt dog tests and confirmation shows for members and the general public.
Feb 08, 2007 Request to CKC to "reinstate" the VIPDC Nov 06, 2007 VIPDC reinstated as Club #138.
Aug 17, 2008 First Sanctioned Field Test held at Trendsetter Farms, Errington
Apr 3-4, 2009 First Licenced Field Trial, held at Springford Farm, Nanoose Bay
Apr 9-11, 2010 First Licenced Field Test, Second Licenced Field Trial, Nanoose Bay
Sept 18-19, 2010 Second Licenced Field Test April 9-10, 2011 Second official CKC Trial
